Offset Your Carbon Footprint

Every Little Bit Helps.

“Offsetting your Carbon Footprint” is a phrase we hear a lot lately. But what does it actually mean? To put it simply, a Carbon Footprint is a measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of green house gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide or CO2. A Carbon Footprint is made up of two parts—a primary footprint and a secondary, or indirect, footprint.

A primary footprint is the measure of our direct emissions of fossil fuels related to energy consumption and transportation. A secondary, or indirect footprint, is the measure of CO2 from the entire lifecycle of the products we consume. The secondary footprint takes into consideration the manufacture, use and breakdown of these products.

Regardless on how you may feel about global warming and climate change, there are things we can all do to take better care of our planet and use our resources, including energy, more wisely.
